Dear Rufino Mendoza Elementary Family,
It is both an honor and a joy to serve as the principal of Rufino Mendoza Elementary School. With more than 18 years in education, I have had the privilege of serving students, families, and educators in a variety of roles, all rooted in one belief: every child deserves a champion and a pathway to success.
At Rufino Mendoza, we are more than a school—we are a family, a community, and a place where possibilities become realities. Nestled in the heart of Fort Worth's historic Northside, we proudly honor the rich traditions of our community while preparing our students for a future filled with opportunity.
We believe that education is about more than academics. It is about developing the whole child—cultivating curiosity, character, confidence, and compassion. Through rigorous instruction, meaningful relationships, and engaging learning experiences, we are committed to ensuring that every Longhorn grows as a thinker, a leader, and a dreamer.
Our vision is to cultivate students who embody the Portrait of a Longhorn: lifelong learners, effective communicators, problem solvers, and community-minded leaders. We strive to create an environment where every student feels known, valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
As a proud Fort Worth native, it is a privilege to serve the community that helped shape me. I believe deeply in the power of partnerships, and I know that when families, educators, and community members work together, extraordinary things happen for children.
At Rufino Mendoza, we are committed to elevating excellence in everything we do—from academics and attendance to leadership and character. Together, we are building a school where students discover their strengths, develop their voices, and learn that their future is limitless.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering in the community, and exploring the outdoors through travel, fishing, hiking, and new adventures.

Yosselin Adame, School Counselor
Yosselin Adame brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and heart to her new role as School Counselor at Rufino Mendoza Elementary. A proud member of the Mendoza family, Ms. Adame previously served as a classroom teacher, where she made a lasting impact on students through her commitment to academic excellence and strong relationships. Her work was recognized with the honor of being named Teacher of the Year at Rufino Mendoza Elementary, a reflection of her passion and effectiveness as an educator.
In her new role as counselor, Ms. Adame continues her mission of supporting the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. She is deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where all students feel seen, heard, and empowered to succeed.
Ms. Adame’s background in the classroom provides her with a unique perspective on student needs, allowing her to collaborate closely with teachers and families to ensure every child receives the support necessary to thrive. She is passionate about building strong relationships and fostering a positive school culture that promotes student well-being and growth.
As she transitions into counseling, Ms. Adame is excited to expand her impact across the campus and support students in developing the skills they need for long-term success.
