Ellyn Shepherd

Hi! My name is Ellyn Shepherd, and I am the English Pre-K teacher at Rufino Mendoza! This will be my 8th year teaching Pre-k in FWISD and this is my 1st year at Mendoza. YAY! 

When I am not teaching I enjoy traveling, hiking with my dogs and the people I love, and enjoying visiting awesome places around Fort Worth (Botanic Gardens, Casa Manana Theater, and of course places to eat GOOD food)! 

My Teacher Assistant and I have been hard at work in the classroom, preparing for your little LOVED one. We are excited to be a part of their great efforts and moments of success as they begin their life as an official Rufino Mendoza Longhorn. With the help of their school and home families, they will grow to love learning and being at school!

Consepcion Nava

My name is Consepcion Nava. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Education, Early Childhood- 6th grade.  I have been working in FWISD for 10 years. I've been at Rufino Mendoza for seven years serving as a Bilingual teacher. I have taught 2^nd grade for three years and 1^st grade for four years, which I so enjoy.  I am married and I have two boys. I love musical boxes, to draw, do crafts, watch movies and spend time with my husband and boys.

¡Es mi primer año como maestra de Kindergarten! Estoy agradecida y bendecida de tener esta oportunidad de conocer y enseñarles a sus hijos e hijas. Haré todo lo que esté a mi alcance para que mis estudiantes tengan una experiencia de aprendizaje positiva, segura y divertida.

Me gradué de la Universidad de North Texas en el año 2023 y tengo mis títulos universitarios en Psicología y Español.

Mi color favorito es el verde. En mi tiempo libre, me gusta jugar tenis con mi esposo, leer, ver las películas de los superhéroes de Marvel, y pasar tiempo con mi familia y ahijados. 

¡Estoy muy emocionada de comenzar este año escolar!
 

I am Mrs. Roxanne Espinoza

It is my first year as a Kindergarten teacher! I am grateful and blessed to have the opportunity to teach and to get to know your kids. 

I will do all that I can to make sure my students have a positive, safe, and fun learning experience. 

I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2023, where I studied Psychology and Spanish. 

My favorite color is GREEN. 

During my free time I like to play tennis with my husband, read, watch Marvel superhero movies and spend time with my family and godchildren.
